What actually happens
in a session.

Most parents arrive not quite sure what to expect. Here's exactly how it works.

01
Movement Assessment

Mick watches your child move — running, balancing, posture under load. He's not just looking at their feet. He's reading the whole picture: where they compensate, where they hesitate, where their body tells a different story to what they say about themselves. You'll see things you've never noticed before.

02
Real-Time Correction

We don't just identify problems — we fix them in session. Mick coaches your child through corrective drills and technique adjustments on the spot. Most parents see a visible shift within the first 20 minutes. That's what hands-on in-person coaching makes possible.

03
Scored, Then Sent Home

Every session ends with that week's standard scored out of ten, written down in front of you. Then your child takes two or three short home sessions into the week to build the reps. You always know where they're at and exactly what they're working on next.

One standard.
One week. Every week.

A child holds one correction at a time — not seven. So each standard gets its own session, its own homework, and its own score.

Week 01
Balance

Be the One-Legged Ninja. Everything else is built on this. Baseline filmed and all seven standards scored.

Week 02
Posture

Draw That Beautiful Bow. You can't accelerate out of a collapsed position — change the shape, change the output.

Week 03
Acceleration

Lean Like a Jet. Speed comes from trusting the lean. Pulling back to feel safe is what makes them slow.

Week 04
Foot Strike

Land Strong, Run Free. Landing in front of you is the brakes. The tripod is where braking stops.

Week 05
Push Off

Dynamic Like a Kangaroo. The engine. This is usually where the biggest single jump in score happens.

Week 06
Arms

Powerful Arms, Powerful Legs. Elbows back, not across. Arms set the rhythm the legs follow.

Week 07
Cadence

Run With Rhythm. Everything at once, at the right tempo. They dictate their speed instead of reacting to it.

Week 07
The Finish Line

All seven standards re-scored against week one, side by side on screen, with the footage to prove it.

Between every session

Two or three short home sessions — fifteen to twenty minutes, on whichever days suit your week — plus daily foot and breath work. Full video library included, so nobody is ever coaching from memory.

Who this is for.

In-person programs work best when a family is ready for clarity — not just encouragement.

Melbourne families who want the coach in the roomParents who'd rather Mick worked with their child directly than follow a program on their own.
Parents who want a clear pictureNot a guess — a scored diagnosis of exactly what's holding your child back, and a number that moves.
Kids who've started opting outChildren who've decided they're not one of the sporty ones — and are quietly stepping back because of it.
Athletes with recurring injuriesWhere the movement pattern is the problem, not just the tissue — and the same injury keeps coming back.
Kids who need hands-on instructionChildren who respond better to real-time feedback and in-person coaching than watching videos at home.

Because there are seven movement standards, and a child holds one correction at a time — not seven. Cramming the lot into a single hour is why one-off sessions rarely stick. Each standard gets its own week to be taught, drilled at home, and scored before we move to the next one.
Same seven sessions, same seven standards, same scored before and after. Movement Mastery is the physical work — drills, correction, homework. Built From The Ground Up adds three things: breathwork taught live in every session so your child leaves with a full pressure routine, you in the room being coached on the language and sideline behaviour that either build or chip at their confidence, and the confidence programme itself, assigned and followed up week by week.
For Built From The Ground Up, yes — every session. That's not admin, it's the point. You'll pick up the cues, the timing, and when to say nothing, and then you run the home sessions through the week. For Movement Mastery you're welcome but not required.
Sessions are designed for children aged 8–18. This is the developmental window where movement patterns are still highly trainable and where the biggest long-term gains are made.
No. The seven standards underpin all sport — balance, posture under load, acceleration, change of direction. Whether your child plays soccer, basketball, footy, netball or competes in athletics, the work translates straight to their game.
If you book either seven-week program within 48 hours of your Clinic Assessment, the full $220 comes off the program price. Most families make the move straight after the debrief.
Comfortable athletic clothing and their regular sport shoes. No special equipment needed. Water bottle recommended. If your child has any injury history, bring a brief note or be ready to describe it — it helps Mick understand the context before the session starts.

Seven weeks from now,
you'll have the numbers to prove it.

Limited spots available each intake. Don't wait until the injury — or the label — becomes the story.

"I can't give back the years I lost to injury. But I can prevent your child from losing theirs."
